e-Governance Solution For Kohima Smart City

The Kohima Smart City Development Limited (KSCDL), identified certain Smart ICT interventions required to make the city smart. To ensure such a vision, it was imperative for a city to find smarter ways to manage complexities, reduce expenses, increase the efficiency of governance and enable transparency in the governance.

All these services were done manually till now, and the need now was to automate the processes. In addition coordination with different departments of Kohima was a big challenge wherein every department had its own processes and procedures.

The following modules were incorporated in the Solution:

  • Registration and NOC Solution- The Registration and NOC Solution was intended with an aim to provide an online facility to general citizens that should allow users to apply for different kinds of certification and NOC. The applications should allow the general citizens to avail offered features by login into the solution.
  • Incident & Grievance Management System- Incident Management System aimed in providing quick solutions to the issues reported by the general public. The citizens could also lodge complaints related to Kohima Municipal Corporation services. Depending upon the priority of the reported incident/ complaints are being resolved.
  • Workflow Management System- Creating and optimizing the paths for data in order to complete items in a given process. Workflow management includes finding redundant tasks, mapping out the workflow in an ideal state, automating the process, and identifying bottlenecks or areas for improvement.
  • Property Tax Management- Aided the government to collect property taxes more efficiently, while also ensuring that local government authorities are transparent to residents.
  • File Management System- Building an intuitive user interface for real-time organizing, storing, and managing file notes, case history, comments, and approvals.

Using the Registration and NOC module, people from Kohima can get trade licenses, residential certificates, sales permits, import coupons, pet licenses, etc. The solution could be used in offline mode also.

The citizens of the Kohima and employees of Kohima Municipal Corporation are getting benefited with the digital transformation of the services and automation of the processes.
