One District One Product E-commerce Platform

Odopmart.com is an e-commerce website dedicated to ‘One District One Product’ goods. It has been established by Uttar Pradesh Handicrafts Development and Marketing Corporation (UPHDMC) with the aim to bring ODOP products to the online market by providing a platform to small businesses and artisans. With an aim of ” Vocal For Local” through Odopmart.com, the Uttar Pradesh Government aims to revive the culture of buying local, handmade goods with a unique heritage while enhancing the customer base of MSMEs, craftsmen, and artisans.

We developed a state-of-the-art website dedicated to showcasing ODOP products in a way that highlights their intricacy and variety. The website classifies products both on the basis of origin as well as the type of handicraft. The collection available on the website is extensive and includes textiles such as Chikankari and Banarasi, woodwork from Saharanpur, metalwork from Muradabad, Gur (Jaggery) from Muzzafarnagar, and Kala Namak rice from Siddhartnagar.

One of the biggest challenge was the collection of details of artisans like personal details, photographs, account details etc. Another challenge was onboarding of the vendors as a) the vendors were scattered in all of UP and b) not every vendor was registered and was having details like GST etc.

 

For non-registered vendors, Cataloguing was done with the help of the department, registered vendors could do business on their own.

Odopmart provides all India delivery of orders. Odopmart has empaneled logistic partners India Post in order to increase the reach of its deliveries as well as cater to ‘Cash on Delivery’ orders. Our aim is to help our client in serving their customers with quick access to the traditional goods of Uttar Pradesh and to make them competitive with respect to other FMCG and Fast Fashion goods. Odopmart is placed at the intersection of digitisation and cultural preservation. We aim to provide access to the digital ecosystem directly to artisans, craftsmen, and weavers in due course of time. Odopmart has registered 1046 vendors so far.
